Time-shift Velocity Analysis
Another advantage of our approach to VSP and FWI is that we are able to do more or less traditional style velocity analysis using either time-shift, depth-shift, or angle gathers. Figures are time-shift gathers from the BP2004 synthetic walkaway of the preceding section. They represent 1% reductions in velocity. One can easily visualize analyzing the impact of modest velocity changes using these gathers.
